About Us

Over the past six years, we've run courses and workshops in the North Devon area in Marriage Preparation. This has successfully enabled some 200 couples to prepare for their marriages in that period. In 2008 a course aimed at enriching marriages was added to the offer. In 2009 this led to the formation of the North Devon Community Family Trust (NDCFT) as a charity registered in England No1131353
The NDCFT begins with a proven track record in the provision of Marriage Preparation and Marriage Enrichment courses. It will continue to provide these locally and seek to extend to the wider North Devon area.
The Marriage Preparation course is a one day workshop for couples who have chosen to be married in church. To date, 22 such workshops have been held with very positive reviews from those attending. It is free to attendees but supported financially by the churches or other organisations who refer the couples. The Marriage Course is a weekly course of 8 sessions which although Christian in emphasis, has proven to be accessible and useful to people of all faiths and none. Attendees pay a registration fee
Relationships
The secret of a great relationship is all about attitude and how we turn that into behaviour towards one another. Modern "relationship education" courses are so good because they show us how to keep a lid on our bad habits and use a few more good habits.
We run a variety of relationship courses - for young Mums and Dads who have just started having a family, marriage preparation courses for newly engaged couples, marriage courses for people who have been married for several years, and just about anyone else.
Research shows that courses like ours can improve relationship quality and all the good stuff, reduce conflict and all the bad stuff, and also reduce the chances of splitting up.
Pick a course that suits you. Call us if you're not sure which to go for. You won't find any of the courses remotely embarrassing or scary. They're nothing like counselling. You'll find them good fun and really practical.
